In an era where global warming is becoming increasingly severe, everyone is seeking a practical and sustainable way to do their part for the planet. In April 2025, JPE Yuan Heng led by example, launching a week-long event called “Green Week: Making Green Action Part of Daily Life” simultaneously in Kaohsiung and Kunshan, China. This initiative, aligned with the spirit of Earth Day, invited every company partner to start from their daily routines and put sustainable values into action.

The core aim of this event was to foster a relaxed and engaging atmosphere in which each team member could deepen their awareness and involvement in sustainability issues. Participation was both simple and fun: each person received a personalized green mission Bingo card, with nine task boxes—some featuring designated daily green-themed actions set by the company, and others left open for creative expression.

Every completed task allowed the participant to check off a box. Completing six or more earned a chance to enter a prize draw, while completing all nine tasks qualified one for a special grand prize. At the same time, all funds collected during the event would be donated to environmental NGOs, transforming individual green actions into a collective force for social good.

The event kicked off on April 21 with “Green Lunch Day,” where employees enjoyed vegetarian meals in support of sustainable diets. Both the Kaohsiung and Kunshan offices curated creative and localized green-themed days. In Kunshan, the “Rebirth of the Delivery Bag” initiative saw used delivery bags repurposed into practical eco-friendly garbage bags, embodying the spirit of reuse and renewal. In Kaohsiung, the “100-Step Challenge” encouraged walking at least 100 steps a day, promoting eco-conscious commuting as a first step toward sustainability.

The second highlight was “Knowledge Power Day”. In Kunshan, quick 30-minute pop-up sessions taught practical green habits, such as how to reduce plastic in daily life. Kaohsiung hosted an “Eco Classroom: Empowering Through Knowledge,” aiming to spark change through education by encouraging team members to rethink everyday habits from a new perspective.

The third theme “Secondhand Exchange Day”, invited Kunshan team members to bring in unused but still-functional items for donation or trade, keeping resources in circulation. Meanwhile, Kaohsiung organized a “Warmth Through Sharing: Secondhand Market,” where every item found a new owner and shared a bit of warmth in the process.

Recycling, a cornerstone of sustainability, was emphasized through a company-wide drive encouraging employees to bring in PET bottles, paper, and glass for proper sorting and recycling. The campaign was personally led by General Manager of the Administration Department, Ms. Chen Ying-Chieh. A memorable quote from the event—“Recycling one ton of cardboard saves 17 trees”—reminded everyone of the critical importance of resource conservation.

Green Week concluded with “Earth Appreciation Day.” In Kunshan, team members wrote messages to the Earth and posted them on the office wall, creating a “Green Action Wall” full of gratitude and commitment. Each card was a record of the green journey and a launch point for future efforts.

In Kaohsiung, employees transformed discarded cardboard into a symbolic tree of life and hung handwritten wishes and blessings on its branches. Each card resembled a fruit, symbolizing how every sincere action could help the Earth bear a rich and hopeful future.

Over the course of the week, the event sparked 728 tangible green actions and inspired 47 innovative green ideas —from DIY compost bins and water-saving dishwashing methods to concepts for paperless meetings. These contributions showed that being green isn’t just a slogan—it’s a way of life. A photo wall captured the smiles and participation of every team member, adding warmth and memory to the word “sustainability.”

Green Week was more than just an event—it was the launch and continuation of shared values. Through this thoughtful design, JPE Yuan Heng hopes that every team member can rediscover their connection to the Earth in daily life. Starting from one vegetarian meal, one recycled bottle, or one Bingo card, we’ve learned that small actions can indeed protect our planet. Green Week planted seeds of hope, rooting the vision of “coexisting sustainably with the Earth” firmly into our lives.
